Evening of Fracking Films, Forums, and Fizz
@ the Palace Theater on James in Syracuse
This is meant to be a fun evening to recharge with a little something for everyone. The main goal is to encourage conversation and cross-fertilization of ideas.
- For those who know all about hydrofracking already (and those who wish to learn from others) we invite you to join us for the wine and beer tasting (with a cash bar available) to relax and discuss latest developments in an informal atmosphere. Hear why wineries are concerned about hydrofracking. Later, we'll have a slightly more formal "SGEIS study session" to focus on preparing our comments. Wine courtesy of Art Hunt and Hunt Country Vineyards, and beer courtesy of Middle Ages Brewery here in Syracuse.
- Bring along your friends, coworkers, and relatives who aren't quite as passionate as you... they can enjoy Gasland on the big screen. We also have Shira Golding, director of Frack Attack, coming to introduce her film.
- There will be opportunities to write letters to elected officials, sign petitions for a ban, learn how to organize your towns, etc.
